‘Collaborative’ multi-axis polyarticulated robots, or ‘cobots’
Cobots have only been on the market for 5 years. These slower-moving, less precise robots fit well in LEAN manufacturing of competitive organisations.
They are specially designed to work in environments where people are present: they stop in case of contact, so no enclosures or guard rails are required.
Cartesian coordinate multi-axis robots
These robots work at high speeds with great precision. They are specially designed to work in secure environment.
